INSPIRING WOMAN FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD : MEET NATACHA FROM MELBOURNE

Natacha Muller

"I'm a dynamic outgoing person who likes to interact with people on a daily basis. I like to bring all sorts of people together by using improv. I own a French drama company called the French Loop which gives me a lot of experience engaging with people of different ages. I may be only 5'2 but I'm full of energy !"

Where is your favourite place to shop?

I'm not a regular shopper and I don't have a specific favourite shop but I love a variety of places depending on my mood that day. For an instance, if I have a spare hour in between classes I would shop at the nearest group of shops and you would usually find me in Zara, Uniqlo, Tommy Hilfiger...

I have to be honest, I also do enjoy shopping online but I find it tricky to judge clothes as they are online and I would much rather prefer to see them in store or try them on.

What is your favourite outfit to feel confident?

When I pick out my favourite outfit, I usually start by picking out the shoes first, which always turns out to be very vibrant and colourful. After I have picked out the shoes, I then style my outfit around them which tends to be more subtle so I don't en up looking like a clown.

What is the worst fashion crime you can think of?

In my opinion, one of the worst crime in fashion has to be Lady Gaga’s meat dress at the 2010 MTV awards. This is because I view the dress to be very unethical as she is wearing a dress made out of meat (and frankly I think that it is pointless).

What is your favourite brand and why?

My favourite brand to shop at is Ted Baker as they have a very diverse range of clothes from elegant cocktail dresses to more fresh and flowery pieces. I also love this brand because even though you have to pay more for a piece compared to other brands, the materials they use is very good quality and last a long me.

Even for my wedding I was happy to have a touch of Ted Baker as both of my sisters wore dresses made by them.

Why is fashion important to you?

Fashion is especially important when it comes to drama and therefore in my everyday work life as it helps you to express characters to the audience as well as to aid the actor to embody their character.

Who is your fashion icon or inspira on?

My fashion icon is Carrie played by Sarah Jessica Parker in Sex and the city as I admire her creativity and her ability to pair unusual clothing items together and make them a masterpiece.

She is also a very good at being a role model through embodying the phrase “Feeling confident in your own shoes”.

Do you have any advice to find a bargain?

My advice to find a bargain would be to shop regularly in second hand shops as they have so much to offer! Coming from France, we had a very limited access to second hand shops and since living in Australia, I have found many gems due to them being on every single corner.

Do you think fashion varies across cultures?

I definitely do think Fashion varies across cultures. In France fashion, especially for women, is seen as a part of everyday life and they like to take pride in what they wear. On the other hand, Fashion in Australia is much more diverse as people priorities being comfortable.

What is your favourite accessory and why?

I don’t have a favorite accessory but I love to use accessories in my outfit, depending on what I’m wearing.

For example when I’m wearing more of a plain dress I like to pair it with a colourful belt to liven up the outfit. It is the same for a pair of ear rings, I like to use them to add personality to my outfit.

Do you prefer summer or winter fashion and why?

I rather prefer summer fashion over winter as I feel you are able to be more creative with your outfits without being restricted by bulky clothes. What I also love about summer fashion is the ability to wear lighter fabrics hot temperatures.
